Dim sum at Leeds

My first dim sum meal at Leeds

I had my first dim sum at this Chinese restaurant in Leeds on Wednesday.

What we call 飲茶 (to drink tea) in Hong Kong, here we say we are going for dim sum. Don’t go alone. I suggest there should be at least 4 people to share a dim sum meal. That way you can try more kinds of dim sum.

The menu

A glimpse at the menu told me this restaurant was exactly like the Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong. I ordered food in Cantonese. I don’t think I had talked to anyone in Cantonese in person since my arrival in the UK.

Turnip cake and rice roll, the latter my favourite

Do I miss home? No. Or maybe I should say, my home is here in Otley. And there is no need to go back to Hong Kong for delicious dim sum.

  1. It was my first experience of dim sum and most certainly won’t be the last. Thank you for guiding us through the menu
