Day 60

I had already lost count of the number of days of my being in Otley until Uncle Tall brought up this topic. He suddenly said, “Tomorrow will be your 60th day in the UK since you arrived.”

Day 2: Covid PCR test

Day 8: Another Covid PCR test

Day 10: Finished my quarantine

And after the quarantine, the beginning of my exploration of Otley, my new home.

I’ve done quite a lot since my arrival.

Morris dancing in Otley

I’ve been to the practice of Wharfedale Waygoose Border Morris and their dances at various pubs, and of course having beer (or cider in my case) with them before, in between, and after the dances.

Ice cream is always nice in the hot summer.

I’m learning new words and one of them is knickerbocker glory (I love the sound of it), a layered ice cream sundae served in a tall conical glass.

Playing Scrabble with friends.

And I’ve played Scrabble OUTDOORS. It’s actually the first time to play Scrabble, could you believe it? I rarely ventured outdoors while I was in Hong Kong, especially during the unforgiving harsh hot summer. But here I enjoy the sunshine and am glad that I’m getting all the Vitamin D that I need.

Hi, Otley! Thank you for welcoming me.
